I'm looking at going to Bowen for a weekend in the next few weeks, and can't seem to find out if there's somewhere I can camp- that is somewhere with at least an outhouse.

Just got back from Saltspring and found pickings slim, if I'm wanting to keep things legal. Ruckle worked but was a mudhole!!

Any Bowen tips would be much appreciated! The gulf islands seem to have so few "desireable" places without cabins/homes, and I don't want to be watched with an owners eagle-eye!
Thanks!

Sadly enough there is no overnight camping allowed on Bowen.
There are places on the Island that I have camped at overnight when I lived there. It's a short hike down to Cape Roger Curtis/Seal Cove, both offer decent walk-in camping.
For van camping, I'd probably just park at Killarney Lake. There is a day use area there with picnic tables and an outhouse. If you keep a relatively low profile you should be fine there.
Like I said though there is no legit overnight camping though.

Thanks Marc!
I did see Killarney lake on the map. Worth a try, I figure if you're quiet, nobody will call the "authorities"...

IS there any overnight camping on/near Cape Roger Curtis? Used to go there every May24th long weekend, long ago. Thought it's be great to take the kids in to there.
So any info please post.
Thank you.
