I'm looking at going to Bowen for a weekend in the next few weeks, and can't seem to find out if there's somewhere I can camp- that is somewhere with at least an outhouse.
Just got back from Saltspring and found pickings slim, if I'm wanting to keep things legal. Ruckle worked but was a mudhole!!
Any Bowen tips would be much appreciated! The gulf islands seem to have so few "desireable" places without cabins/homes, and I don't want to be watched with an owners eagle-eye! Thanks! |

Sadly enough there is no overnight camping allowed on Bowen. There are places on the Island that I have camped at overnight when I lived there. It's a short hike down to Cape Roger Curtis/Seal Cove, both offer decent walk-in camping. For van camping, I'd probably just park at Killarney Lake. There is a day use area there with picnic tables and an outhouse. If you keep a relatively low profile you should be fine there. Like I said though there is no legit overnight camping though.

Thanks Marc! I did see Killarney lake on the map. Worth a try, I figure if you're quiet, nobody will call the "authorities"...
