I have hiked a fair bit of the peninsula but always in the company of others so we ran shuttles when needed. Public transport, as you probably have found, is spotty. Also, commercial shuttle services are few. What is your route plan? Perhaps that might generate some good suggestions.

You can hitch hike up to Obstruction Point parking lot....done it several times. Hike south past Moose Lake over Grand Pass to Hayden Pass, go west then south over Low Divide. Exit at North Fork near Lake Quinalt Lodge. Have a room rerserved at Lake Quinalt Lodge and next morning hitchhike to Forks and get bus to Port Angeles. You can also cross park west to east through Enchanted Valley, O'neil Pass, La Crosse Pass and Anderson Pass.
