FMCBC is already working on this one. I think there is a meeting with the proponent (Coast Range Heliskiing) soon.

scott - I was told that toby of CRHeli is talking to interested user groups. Can you confirm?

I've been doing some digging and was going to send this out
--------------------------------------------------

I'm trying to get more information - did you hear about this??

Coast Range Heliskiing just had a notice in the Lillooet paper asking for tenure to the North and South of Duffey lake, including Steep Ck, the Hurley Silver Mine, Common Johnny Creek, Elliot and Haylmore Cks - basically all the quick access spot of the road towards Lillooet.

They ask for feedback to:

Adventure Tourism Manager

The case file is 3411014. Here's the map with the added tenure requested - http://www2.lwbc.bc.ca/ApplicationPosting/viewpost.jsp?PostID=8313#top - comments must be received by November 22d, 2007 - I will try to confirm dates

I think this person is the one to contact - I will confirm and send out more information. I've called and left a message to both this person and to Tyler at Coast Range Heliskiing

There is some discussion going on. Comment period is short, however, so feedback is important.

Sandy, isn't that the old map?

What exactly does this mean for non-motorized users? It seems like a lot of areas that are easy to access without a helicopter are in there. Am I wrong or does it include common johnny, hurley silver mine, haylmore/twin lakes etc? Would this mean that helicopters will be buzzing around all the time in those areas (as well as over Marriott basin)? How intensive is the heli-ski activity in such zones where heli-ski companies have tenure?

More importantly, how intensive could the operations be if, they had a larger area, staging grounds, different owners? I wouldn't expect that approval of a tenure in the area can be stopped in any, but its good to get as many people as possible on record, voicing their concerns.
