Does anyone here, know of any good hiking areas around the Simcoe Region in Ontario?

Have you tried the Bruce Trail, out by Devils Glen?
Great views of the Bay and a neat feature, a little further south, along the trail, called the 'Keyhole'

There are a couple nice 'overnighters' on the Bruce, south of Collingwood. One spot is called 'The Keyhole', along the Nottawasaga Bluffs. Nice area and hike , with 1 or 2 nice campsites, close to the edge of the Escarpment. Little side trips run out from there, one to Devils Glen It's a ski centre that has great views of 'the bay' from the top of the hill.(Linear trip)
Head south on Simcoe City Rd 62, through the village of Glen Huron, turn W on Nottawasaga SR 12-13.Go approx. 2.6k and park on the grass shoulder, opposite a sideroad that heads south. The trail(Bruce Trail, so look for white blazes(?)) heads North. Neat area!! Check out 'The Keyhole' which is a hole through a rock wall and heads into a series of narrow 'chasms'

If you continue on, you'll come out on the top of the ski hill at Devils Glen. Good for an easy overnighter, with lots of time left for exploring. I've seen quit e a few Turkey Vultures around there, as they have(had) a nest along the east side of the escarpment, near one of the view points.

Note the date(month) this pic was taken. Not uncommon for snow to linger here into July due to the deep, narrow crevices here.

Ryan,

Has anyone tried the trail from Lion's Head. We're thinking about going south, taking Isle Hanel, then turning north to go around gun point and overnighting at McKay's Harbour. Anyone know how tough the gun point section is? Anyone stay at the overnight rest area?
