hit trail 4pm saturday. camp at lake. the birds were waiting for us to wake up. i could see peck holes in my trail mix bag. i think we got a couple hours of sleep. kept hearing noises so we kept the fire going all night. make it to saddle , and up mt.webb the next morning. we met a hiker on his way up. then i went at it with macdonald thanks Wildman . the cairns were most helpful. back down to my buddy he said he heard me yell his name and could see me up there. dinner was a can of beans and a can of tuna. the first few spoonfuls were absolutely succulent then quickly turned bland. we almost succombed to mcdonalds dreaming of hamburgers and dairy queen sundaes but we didnt cave in and braved the bugs for a beautiful night which included lightning shows in the peaks to the south and amazing stars. in the morning i felt quite ill due to exhaustion thanks bud for carrying my pack down. met one hiker on his way up with overnight pack. overall memorable trip with lessons learnt for next hike...grateful for this site...happy hiking.... ... and one last phenomenal shot of rexford and slesse peaks ...

Glad the cairns helped. I think I was across the lake from you that night.
Very nice report and pictures.
Know what you mean about the dinner selection. I was having the same dreams looking over at Old MacDonald's Farm and all that good food it should have and MacDonald's hamburgers.
The chinese noodle soup was starting to tast like dish water.
When I came home I was so hungry I stopped at MacDonalds and didn't even argue about getting my order wrong. It was down the hatch and gone before I realized.
