Thank goodness for 4x4's. Couldn't have made it very close without them.
Beginning of trail, Still snow covered. .
Crossing the bridge
Break time in the meadows
Couple of scenery shots
The lake is looking back at us
Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves
The girls strutting out

Apart from the 3+ hrs it took to get there we had a great day. The weather was superb the entire time and we didn't see anyone else on the trail. I think 'cause of the current road conditions on the way up. We didn't make it to the very top because of the amount of snow and the trail being completely covered in snow but we did have plenty of views where we had lunch. Can't wait to do it mid-summer. This was also the first time I have hiked with a group larger than 3 people and I couldn't of enjoyed it more. Couple of newbies who where a little on the slow side but that just gave us a chance to rest more and enjoy the scenery. Wish I would of put on sun screen!!!!!

If you can go in July the meadows are gorgeous, full of heather and avalanche lilies!

How was the barricade (at the parking lot) holding out?

If the barricade is that log right after the parking lot then it is in great shape.

Cheers

Love the eye shot, seems like a lot of snow on the flat area. Nice to see we have some green meadows showing.
