I'm putting together a 3-day mtn bike trip for early-mid August. The tentative plan is to fly from Tyaughton Lake to Lorna Lake, head over to upper Tyaughton Creek, camp near Tyaughton Creek on the first night, ride to Spruce lake on the second day, camp at Spruce lake on the second night and ride down Gun Creek on the third day. I'm familiar with the area and conditions but not with the trail from Lorna to Spruce. At least one of the riders is on a SAR team and everyone has extensive back-country experience. Gear and maps are all taken care of. Any advice regarding the trails (waypoints or tracklogs?), ride times or specific things to look out for would be helpful.

Revised
Option 2 - more ambitious:
Day 1 - Lorna lake to Deer Pass trail junction
Day 2 - Over Deer Pass to Trigger Lake
Day 3 - Trigger Lake, down Gun Creek trail to the Jewel Creek bridge

The trail from Lorna to Spruce is nothing short of awesome. See the trip report I posted in the Trip report forums from last summer

Your more ambitious trip is still pretty manageable.

It takes about 3 hours going slow and taking in views to hike from Lorna Lake to Lorna Pass. Only takes about 1 hour to get to Deer Pass junction. Up and over Deer Pass would be say another 3 hours.

I would extend day 2 by going Deer Pass to Warner Lake.

Day 3 looks great. It'll be over quick

Thanks Lee. Some of your photos will come in handy, particularly the one with Lorna Lake in the background. Do you know how much of the trail from Tyaughton to Deer Pass is rideable? I couldn't find a trip report with that section.
Heading up to Warner after going through Deer Pass is definitely being considered. It looks like there's an alpine route heading west on the south side of the pass. Either that or it's down to Trigger lake then uphill to the west along the trail in the valley.

When we get down to the Jewel bridge we still have to climb the hill and ride back to Gun Lake, but cold beers, hot food and swim suits await at the cabin.

There are five creek crossings of Tyaughton Crk between the Deer Pass junction to Spruce Lake. The levels are highest in July so expect to get really wet. Otherwise its' totally rideable and a fun ride
