Thacker Mountain is one if Hope's gems - one of those places that's only well known to the locals.
Back when I lived in Hope we used to hike up there 2-3 times a week - sometimes more. There's a large trail network - the outer loop takes about two hours to complete. There's a steep hill on the main road/trail in - enough to give it a nice workout as well.
My father still lives at the base of the mountain so I still visit occasionally - definately worth investigating if you're in the area. In my opinion Hope really should be pushing to make the entire mountain a regional park - it's a great place. I believe that a significant portion of it is owned by UBC and may have been transfered to FVRD. Thacker Regional Park is located at the base of the mountain along Sucker's Creek and the old KVR - hopefully they expand it upwards.

Certainly a pleasant spot to catch a few moments of quiet and some nice views.
