| Is there a guidebook that covers the climbing that can be found in the Valhallas? Anyone have any extra tidbits of info that they can share? |

| The "Black Book of Lies" (Columbia Mountains of Canada - West and South, American Alpine Club) guidebook is the only one covering the Valhalla. It has all known routes established before around 1992. The grades are all over the map (ie some routes rated 5.7 are pretty easy scrambles while some are brick hard) hence its nickname, but it will help you locate routes of interest. It's out of print but you can find used copies online. |

There's also a bunch of route information, trip reports and photos available on bivouac. And, you can search the KMC newsletters online http://www.kootenaymountaineering.bc.ca/newsletters.html and find lots of recent reports of routes in the Valhallas.
