One of the downsides of telecomuting is that your home computer becomes a 'work' tool and any time you waste playing with photos or posting trip reports - it hits you directly in the pocketbook. At least that's my excuse for a hastily written report and some poorly edited photos.

Now the upside of telecomuting is that you can decide at a moments notice to blow off work and go for a hike. Getting a partner at a moment's notice however is not so easy so I had to go somewhere I felt 'safe' going it alone. Inspired by a number of recent trip reports on NWhikers and WTA I took my chances on Dickerman. (It's on the Mt. Loop Highway - I-5 exit 208 in Arlington)

The trail was completely snow free for the first hour of the hike and when I did reach the snow it's well trampled. The last bit in the trees before the waterfall requires some care and I was glad to have brought trekking poles.

I started just after 7am and reached the waterfall in about 90 minutes. The snow was hard & crusty in the forest but ideal on the open slopes above the falls until about 10am when it became really sloppy. However this made for a couple good glissades on the way back.

Looks sweet. I like that area as there is so much to do and it really isn't all that far away.

Thanks for posting.
