Pipeline is a personal favorite. That rock rollercoaster is a work of art.

OMG !!!

Calling women "hotties" ???

I got emails and letters of hatred and descent when I called women "babes" in a CT thread a short while back !!!... even asked me to remove my posting... Maybe they were babes, maybe they weren't...

What's gonna happen to you ???

I'm hoping to explore some North Shore trails this year. How would you rate the pipeline? easy - medium - hard

Wow, someone has been doing a lot of trail work. I haven't been on that trail for over a year and I don't recognize most of those cobblestone sections.

I think there are almost as many women doing this as men, simply because they are fortunate enough to live in a time and place where nobody is teaching them that they can't.

Pipeline ie medium as far as the North Shore goes, but darn hard compared to the rest of the world.

Pathfinder, all I can say is that the first couple of times you will find any trail on the North Shore hard. However if you get out consistenly and learn the lines and trust your bike you will love them. Pipeline is an easy trail, however I say that with a grain of salt as easy on the North Shore is hard anywhere else.

Just get up there and explore. Pick one trial like Pipeline and ride it as much as you can. This way you will learn the lines and have more fun each time. I recomend a full suspension bike but you do not need a downhill bike. Although the bigger the suspensin the easier time you will have on the trails. Suspension makes up for mistakes so the more you have the bigger mistakes you can make. I use a 5 and 5 inch xc-all mountain bike and love it. 26 pounds for riding up and 5 and 5 for dialing anything down. Big tires like a 2.25 are another way to really improve your riding. The bigger tires give you more surface and better float through and over rocks and roots.

The biggest thing to remeber is your bike wants to stay upright. it is us being scared and using the brakes too much that causes the bike to deviate from a smooth downhill.

If you do pick up a bike, what are you gonna say when someone comes to you and says that's mine.

Looks like fun.Gravity is a quieter engine than my 250.But that doesn't mean that you can't still enjoy a dirt sandwich now and then.

Thanks for the pics Dave!

I really have to make it out west to try those famous North Shore trails. The trails out here are good but many of them are shared amongst hikers and horses which isn't fun when you're descending a mountain pass on scree. Haha!

But either way, it's still winter out here! I finally got to try the Salomon Equipe's a few weeks ago and it was amazing. Even with my mediocre technique, it felt like going from an SUV to a sports car.

Spicytuna, glad you got out on the skis and they are working for you. I am sure you will be passing national team dudes soon. Winter there and pouring rain here. Although it is snow up high I don't know whats better. Good to hear from you and yes a trip to the North Shore is always worth the effort. Carryon...d
