I REALLY like the new Trail Wiki Features!
Good work guys on all of this! This must of been an incredible amount of work , and of course ongoing...
What I like most are the feature you can click on "Completion Time, or Distance" or the other headings and it auto sorts it by increments... Great for pre-planning or searching for a certain type of trip.
Learning of new trails will be a snap! As time progresses and more gets inputted it will get smarter and smarter too with more database information, unique looking too!

Another Idea I was thinking about, (I know you guys are busy as heck already but...) a minor mod to the trail wiki an extra field in the database for trail type...
Because the trail wiki is about the trails, maybe another usefull item would be the trail type such as hiking/biking/horses be displayed. This not only would give hikers an idea of what to expect, but also be usefull to people like me who will want to bike & hike this summer.
Just an idea... I figured the more information you can provide about the trails better so I thought I'd mention it.

Interesting idea... Some sort of an activity field so you can see for single and multiuse trails. |

Also activity options for skiing and snowshoeing would be a good idea as well since not all trails are suitable for these activities due to grade, avalanche hazard etc.

I just noticed the near by trails & recent TR listing on the right of a trail description, is that new or have I been too sleep/caffine deprived to notice? I can't see a way to link a TR to a trail description, is it not publicly available or am I suffering from the above mentioned sleep/caffine deprivation.
It is a really great resource thank you for building the tools and to everyone who is contributing their knowledge! |
