My friend Dave and I went to the Diez Vistas Indian Arm viewpoint today. The first surprise was when I parked at the Buntzen lake parking lot. A sign at the trailhead said that the floating bridge across the lake was broken. We didn't take any chances to check it out. We jumped back to the car and I drove to Sasamat lake. We decided to take the Buntzen Ridge trail from there. This trail eventually meets the Diez Vistas trail at the Pipeline Pass. Today was a perfect day for hiking. It was warm and it wasn't raining. It was a little bit windy at the top on the ridge, but that was it. We were rewarded by the beautiful views of Indian Arm. It was a good day out and we really enjoyed our 3 hour hike today

Nikolai

Nice to see you did this one today. It almost seems you got more clear views that I did when I hiked there earlier this year and last year.

nortonchum, we almost crossed paths today. I was on my way there, but plans changed, last minute. Ended up on Grouse heading towards Goat. Next time perhaps.
Good collection of pics.
At first glance, I thought spiderman was hiking with you today.

Turns out it was you.

Very nice views! Glad the weather cooperated for you.
I like the trail track you provided. I wish I could get some folks down here to do that for me sometimes. I am going to go to a TH soon where three drainages come together. I am to take the one where I jump into the creek with the "steepest bank" that's my friend's failproof directions. I KNOW I will walk 4 miles up the wrong drainage. Your Trail track's got named waypoints, too.

Nice to hear that you are OK, CaptainM. I'm going to the GG+BCMC tomorrow. Hope to see you at the gym tomorrow evening.

It's not a spiderman. It's my Christmas present - a super NIKE cap. So, I don't need a headlamp anymore.

Glad I checked this TR out. It looks like a great little hike with a nice workout. I'm going to have to try this one. Thanks for posting it, Nikolai. I never knew the 2 parks were so connected. Your gps track is extremely helpful.

We did this hike on the 24th. There's nothing too terribly wrong with the bridge other than it's being a little slanted. For the able-bodied, it's prefectly crossable, and I can only imagine they put that sign there for liability reasons.

The bridge was ok...the only problem was the very low water levels...caused the bridge to bend out of shape
