A beautiful, short, fall walk up a couple of drainages in the upper east end of Zion is one of my favorite places in the fall down here.

So, while some went riding horses up at the Buffalo Ranch located east of Zion Park, others went to Kanab shopping. My son and I went for a short walk in Zion. The hike begins as the entrance to the second tunnel on the upper east end of Zion. From there, walk down the right side of the road into the creek. The creek then joins the main creek after only a hundred paces or so. Turn a hard left up the main drainage.
OK, this is a direction that only CT members could appreciate:
"TURN RIGHT AT THE LARGE PINE TREE" where a little opening gives you a peek into an amazing short canyon about 1/2 mile will appear.
Here's your exit... a very much overlooked treasure as we saw only a few footprints once in there. The main trudge seemed to go on upstream in the main creek bed.
See the opening? Cool. Well, off to Vegas and more gambling and driving relatives around to the malls, Forum shops, and dinner at the Hoffbrau House. Cheers! Wish me luck! Megabucks!

Thanks, Spunky!
I will truly miss all the foliage as colder weather arrives and I start heading down more into the Mojave (MO-JIVE) desert soon.
But, I'll have all of your winter pictures and trips to read about.
The best of both worlds for me! Here's to everyone! Have a great winter!

he he thanks, Martin and all! We said our fairwells this morning at the Peppermill restaurant on the Strip in Vegas. Great to be back home. Running back and forth was tough. It's two hours to vegas from my house. So, back and forth a few times gets old quick! Glad you all liked the pictures.
p.s. I'm up 19 dollars....yesh!
