Mission accomplished!

Five CT women went to Lady Peak today. I hate to say this but hiking in a dress is fun and comfortable and cool. I think I might do this again in the future.

What does Lady Peak look like?

Who was there?
Paula (from PiB)
roughrider
Mountain Mary
Crazy Janet (soon to be CT member I hope!)
SnowSeeker

Why do a "Ladies Only" hike?
To honour BC's extraordinaire woman mountaineer, Phyllis Munday.

(thanks for giving me the idea of bringing a picture of her, exscape)

Was it fun?
What do you think? For once I was allowed to wear mascara and lipstick on a hike. And it looks like I wasn't the only one with the same idea as Mountain Mary gladly put on a nice coat of MAC lipstick before hitting the trailhead. The other girls went all the way too. Mountain Mary and roughrider even had matching pearl necklaces!!!

Here's fashionable Paula:

And Janet... Well Crazy Janet (I think it should be your CT name!) was a bit cold so she chose to wear her dress over MANY layers of clothing. She must be the only person I know who can wear two pairs of pants under a dress in the summer time!

Seriously we couldn't have picked a better day to do this hike. It was really neat to drive to the trailhead and see the sky clearing up. To my big surprise, we were the second ones in the parking lot this morning. LOTS of people heading up Cheam, barely anyone going up Lady Peak. What a shame! Cause Lady Peak is a fun scramble.

Here are some more pics for you. Enjoy...

Hiking in a dress RULES!!!

Some clouds, almost ready to vanish

Cool lake

Going all the way up to heaven

Idealistic74, check out the blueberries... Took me less than a minute to pick those up. There were actually more than this but I ate quite a few of them before I decided to take a picture for you. I don't think I ever saw that many blueberries in my entire life. Blueberry heaven! Cheam is on the background.

Paula is being distracted by the blueberries...

On the way up

Almost there

Voilà!

We met an angel on the road. Nice to see there are still caring people around. Thanks for your help (can't remember his name now)! And yeah, roughrider KNOWS how to change a flat tire. This woman rocks!

And all of the other girls on this hike rock too of course... Thanks for a fun day!

Hello there Annie. Thought I saw you climb down the mountain, and zoomed in on three people using 300mm ditigal zoom. Once I downloaded the photos and enlarged further further on the computer, it turned out not to be you but three young men. Perhaps you met them up there.

Annie

Oh shucks, I saw a group behind them and it was yours. I should have tried using the 300mm zoom on you then.

So these three are not wearing dresses.

KARVITK: we were ahead of them going up but they were ahead of us going down. This looks like they were heading up. Too bad. Oh well, next time!

Awesome report and good job you guys, er I mean girls.

Love the Munday shot.

That road is horrible for eating tires, happens all the time. Good on you RoughRider, I shoulda known you'd know how to handle a rubber swap.

(This is exy posting as BG btw. Don't want to get him into too much trouble.)

Wish I could have joined in, looks like it was a blast.

This one is funny. That was me telling all the others in the group Cheam did not look like Cheam on the picture. Which way are we going again???

It's probably us. Too bad you couldn't zoom more...

Don't you think a woman looks great wearing a dress while hiking? And it's awesome for air circulation!

Oktoberfest is on. Now if I could score one of those outfits and hit Brew Lake it'd be really cool...

Very Nice! I like the little lake shot, too. Hobbit land?
That circulation idea has me really thinking. Down here when it get to 110 + degrees, a kilt may be in order...hmmm...
Y'all probably broke a dress at highest altitude record, too!
