Has anyone done much hiking in the Gulf Islands? We've been talking about trying more of those this summer. I grabbed a book "Hiking the Gulf Islands", by Charles Kahn yesterday. Just wondering if anyone can recommend any other books as well or specific islands/trails that they found most enjoyable. We're thinking of sticking to islands that the ferries get to for starters...

I have done Galiano Is. We car camped at Montague Harbor and hiked all the trails on the island. It's a beautiful place, well worth it.
The San Juans in Washington State are also worth a visit. Orcus Is. specifically rocks with Moran State Park.
See you on the mountain! |
