I bought this book yesterday in Squamish, it was just recently released.

ISBN is 0973893109.

The book is an attractive, though slim, full-colour text describing 25 hikes near Lillooet. Hikes range from flat trails along the Fraser River, to trails leading to secluded alpine lakes in the alpine. I had never heard of more than half the trails and hikes in this book.

The book is written and published by the Lillooet Naturalist Society. There is a lot of description and photos of the birds and animals you may encounter, Lillooet history, First Nations lore, etc. The back of the book has tick box lists for noting down the different animal species you may encounter.

Since it is dry in Lillooet when it rains everywhere else you might want a copy of this for rainy days in Vancouver.

For such a slim book I was disappointed it cost $24 but then again I guess you pay for the high print quality and full-colour presentation.

Also this link http://www.whistlerbooks.com/shop/detail.php?cat=4&sub=26&item=196 says they are selling it for $26.95 in Whistler, so I guess I saved $2.95 by buying it at VPO Squamish.

It makes a nice model of how to do it if, say, you wanted to publish a Hope Hiking Guide.

THanks Dru. I love the Lillooet area, and would like to explore more. We'll have to add this one to our collection.

You can buy this book from the German bakery in Lilloet on Main Street for $ 21.95. Very nicely presented. Would be useful to have elevations for some of the roads named. Be aware that not all the FSR's or roads are signed as such especially on the Duffy Lake Road so use it perhaps with another book like the Backroads Mapbooks
