Russ, thank you very much for your friendly comment. However, I don´t even think of raising the bar higher when I publish my photography (smile). I enjoy sharing my vision of the world with others and of course it pleases me, when my efforts are appreciated. Thanks again for having a look at it . Btw: I designed and programmed the website myself too. |

I've recently linked my website with my stock and fine art images that I have on my Photoshelter Archive. Their archive storefront is pretty nifty with direct ordering for enlargements and greeting cards.

| How are you liking Zenfolio Mauricio? I've been toying with the idea of moving my material over there. |

I like it a lot. I did quite a bit of research about Zenfolio and Smugmug before taking the plunge. I like Zenfolio's ease of use, intuitive interface, and well-designed themes. There are also helpful user forums and responsive tech support. It seemed much more straightforward and clean than Smugmug.
If you plan to manage sales, however, users report that Smugmug offers better customization. I cannot be of much help here, since I was not interested in the commercialization features. While amateurs and plain consumers seem overall to favor Zenfolio, pros seem more inclined to choose Smugmug. |

Peruse them now because February next year David & Karen's Hiking Page will be no more. MSN Groups were bought out and they are migrating to a blog style, the new format does not work with our site. We're not surprised, we knew this was coming. We haven't been able to update it for almost 2 years now. David created it in 2001 because it held all the info he had spent countless of hours researching back in the days before 'the Google'. It was free to host and now with 2 small kids we just don't have the time to create a new one and maintain such a site. Especially these days where the information is readilly available on forums and Google, and there are so many photo hosting sites...it is just past its prime.
I may look into Zenfolio, I was going to create my own photography site on Smugmug (a project I've been working on for a long time now) but was going to look at some other options as well. Thanks for the tip. |

D&K, I'd also recommend checking out the Jalbum software, particularly the "chameleon" skin for photo sharing. It's quite simple to use and the chameleon skin has watermarking and no photo download options. Coppermine is also quite a nifty free photo sharing software package with more administrative options.

After trying out pretty much every photo sharing website I decided on Flickr. It is not by any means perfect but it is better than the rest, in my view. People can browse, search and see photos without signing up which is a MAJOR advantage over the rest.
