Looking for a group of people to join me on a trip to the Amazon.
If you’ve ever been interested in this unique world this is an opportunity to benefit from my experience, contacts and language skills—an alternative to the commercial adventure tour and a more rewarding experience.
The trip will involve boat travel along the Amazon river and its tributaries in Colombia, Brazil and Peru, hiking and camping in the jungle, wildlife observation, opportunities for fishing, swimming and an appreciation for indigenous people and life in the jungle.
At this stage I’m envisioning ten days to two weeks in July (towards the end of the rainy season). More than being in decent physical shape, this type of travel calls for the ability to put up with a certain level of discomfort, mainly in the form of insects and all manner of creepy-crawlies, constant humidity and very simple fare. The ability to get along in a small group setting and a sense of humour are also important.
Small price to pay for the amazing experience that awaits us: Macaws and monkeys in the treetops, pink dolphins and caimans in the rivers, capybaras, tapirs, clear jungle streams teeming with fish and the possibility of a truly exceptional sight: a jaguar or a giant anaconda.

Nothing against you, pilgrim, just replying to Q. Sounds like a great trip, though! But, I could never afford a trip that far away.
