I enjoy following election campaigns, I find them rather humourous actually. Last week Scott Reid, one of Paul Martin's senoir henchmen, made what is now that famous "beer and popcorn" statement, in reference to what he figured parents would do with the 25 bucks a week the Conservatives propose to give as daycare allowance.
Such a comment prompted fascinating reactions of course, with even a petition asking Mr. Martin if he would himself choose beer over kids:

Interestingly, the two signature tallies are pretty much neck and neck.
