Simon has received a pic of the balloon spotted by McKenzie near the Devil's Leap Bluffs in Drifter Valley in a truly bizarre location

Johnny English forwarded these pictures to me from the Crown Creek area. He'd heard of some big trees still alive and well in the Capilano Watershed and parachuted in to check them out.

This was found on Hollyburn the other day. Do I get bonus points for the shadow shot?

Today I found a two-pointer

But I also heard rumours of a "balloon vortex" in Settler Creek that I will have to investigate in the near future!

I couldnt believe it, my second hiking trip out and I already found a balloon!

Seymour Demonstration Forest, along McKenzie Creek about 50m up from the bridge, while I was in search of the Earl Kelman trail and the temple of time.

So glossy balloon, ribbon attached, 8 points! Someone must of had a sports-themed party because it's a football balloon.

I found something! Dont know if it was the Earl Kelman or not. The flagging lasted for about 75 - 100 m uphill then went behind a cropping of vine maple's so I said screw it and turned back. I checked out another set of markings that branched off from where I crossed Mackenzie Creek and it seemed more like survey tape than anything else. Definitely not a trail.

Your best bet to find the grove is to head in via Hydraulic Trail at the Hydraulic Bridge, then go left at the tapemarked junction (it will cross the creek) and follow the tapes up to the Paul George Giant. Once there, the route goes down a little and continues on through the bush, crosses a dry creek bed and eventually reaches the big trees. Impossible to get lost cause if you head downhill long enough you'll hit the road of course

Another 2 pointer for me, on Blanshard:

Fragment of balloon corpse.

What do you think the writing said? we figured that the Y visible was the last letter in "Happy". Then the next word starts with A but there are hearts. Maybe Happy Anniversary?

----------------------------------------
Wine stirs the spring, happiness bursts through the earth like a plant, walls crumble, and rocky cliffs, chasms close, as song is born.
