For a couple of years the access to the Meager Group (mountains) and the Meager Hot Springs has been almost unavailable since the bridge was destroyed.

The Whistler Question reports
quote:
Although a time frame for construction has not been confirmed, the Ministry of Forests announced on Tuesday that the Provincial Emergency Plan (PEP) would fund the reconstruction of Meager Creek Bridge. A new bridge means the Meager Creek Hot Springs recreation site will be accessible to locals and tourists alike. The springs are part of a Ministry of Forests day-use recreation site, which includes a change room, outhouse and campground.

Thanks for the heads-up, Howesound! Good to know we will be able to cross that river again.

Great news! Does anyone know if the road is still blocked at the Hurley turnoff?

Yes it is, Martin. I'm unsure of when they'll reopen it, but I assume they will do that in conjunction with the new bridge, after the Geothermal plant is up and running.
