Never heard of, but sounds like good fun. I will try for it this year. Does the 'group' head right up to the fire lookout? Speaking of fire look-out, I have found the Rangers at Moose Mountain to be very friendly the past few years and they should be thanked for that! |

| Anyone know why it is called Moose Mountain (Alberta)? Some tell me b/c it looks like a moose, but I don't really see the moose in the shape. But I'm not really all that "abstract" though! |

Hey K,
Sorry such a lag in replying
The summer solstice is a great hike, however the trick is....is it done on the REAL solstice or on the 21st as sometimes this does change the date...so you might end up alone
Everyone just heads up in groups, the helicopter pad is packed like the c-train at 7:30 in the morning!!!!
The last time we were up, the fire look out women was less than excited to see everyone!! but we went back another time and a different person ran it and was exceptionally friendly,,,, go figure.
