Directions
To reach the northern trailhead, follow Highway #3 (Hope-Princeton Highway) 35.5km East of Hope to Sumallo Grove parking lot in Manning Provincial Park. Park here, and locate the trail on the southern end of the parking lot.
For the southern trailhead, take exit #168 off of Highway #1 near Hope. Follow Flood Hope Road East to a flashing amber light at Silver-Skagit Road and zero your odometer. Turn right onto Silver-Skagit Road, and follow it south for over 40 km into Skagit Valley Provincial Park and to the signed trailhead next to 26 Mile Bridge.
Details
Starts on the east side of 26 Mile Bridge. This is an easy train and is 14.5 km long and takes about four to six hours to hike. Passes through rhododendron groves that bloom in early to mid June. The trail leads to Manning Park's Sumallo Grove on Highway #3. The DeLacey Wilderness Camp is 10.5 km from 26 Mile Bridge.
The south trailhead is often completely flooded with water. There is a bypass trail that leaves the Silver-Skagit road about 100m east of the trailhead. The bypass trail is parked by a pink ribbon, but there are no flags along the trail. Where they bypass trail meets up with the main trail again there are 3 bands of flagging tape wrapped around a tree on the left side of the trail (heading south).
