Located on Bowen Island.

Once you leave the ferry at Snug Cove, take the second right on Mt. Gradner Road and follow this untill you come to a pole #491 marking a service road . Head left on the road , then right onto Bowen Pitt Road to a gate. There is a small parking lot just before the gate.

Once you pass the gate you will come to the Skid Trail. The trail heads up an old logging road and will some come to a junction. From here you can take the Matt Hill Trail, keeping right and heading north will bring you to the Hand loggers trail and the North Peak. From there you can summit the North peak and hook up with the trail going to the South Peak. From the South Peak you can take an old trail that will link up with the Mount Gradner South Trail.

Sound Confusing? It can be so it is best to take a map of the area or a photo copy of the trail description in 103 hikes.

The trail itself is a fairly easy path with few rocks and roots to trip over but good footwear should be used. Also don’t forget sunscreen as the top is open and exposed.

The trails are steep in only a few sections through second growth forest. Once you are on the trail it will all make sense to you. The area is not that big and if you are heading up you will find the connecting trails. As you gain some elevation the views start to open up. The only downside is the ugly towers at the top. There are two nice platforms at the top to stretch out on and soak up the sun. One provides you great views of the North Shore of Vancouver, and on a clear day you might see all the way to Stanley Park. The other side provides a view of the Sunshine Coast with Gibson’s landing below and center and the Mill at Wood fiber to your upper right.
