Directions
The trailhead starts at a small parking area on the north side of Highway #11, 1 km west of the Wildhorse Creek bridge.
Details
The trail begins in the northwest corner of the gravel pit. Some easy bushwacking up a small creek is required until a good trail is reached at 1.5 km. What follows is best described as a "relentless climb" to the saddle between two peaks. The final 1/3 of the route follows the slope downhill to the lake.
Helicopter traffic is concentrated at the south end of the lake, and the best camping is at the point on the north end.
