Directions
Follow Highway #1 (Trans-Canada) east towards Hope. Take the Flood-Hope Road Exit #165, initially heading north and away from the Husky truck stop. Turn left on to the small road that parallels the highway, known as Flood Falls Road and follow it to it's end at a checkerboard sign. Park here, or continue on the short dirt road that continues for another 100 meters.
Details
Starting at the grassy area next to the freeway, a mountain biking trail network extends beyond the end of the road. Neglected and no longer used, the main trail can be followed as a hiking route to two interesting canyons and a waterfall.
Cross the grassy area and look for the mountain biking trail. The trail will lead uphill and past some wooden mountain biking structures. Don't take any side trails - follow the main route approximately 1km. Eventually, the mountain biking trail will degrade into a rocky area alongside a creek and become more of a standard hiking route. Follow the trail as it leads to the junction between two small, sharp canyons cutting their way down the mountainside.
The eastern canyon has an interesting waterfall. Officially it is unnamed, but is referred to here as "Chawuthen Creek Falls" since it drains directly into Chawuthen Creek.
