Directions
I-90 to exit #54. On the north side of the freeway, the paved road turns right to Gold Creek. Stay straight ahead on rough, dirt Road #9090 and drive 0.4 mile to a gate and parking area. Walk the road 2.0 miles. It switchbacks up through an old clear cut; then contours between old growth below the road and old clear-cut above the road. At 2.0 miles the road switchbacks to the right, the trail starts on the left side of the road and is difficult to see because of overgrowth.
Details
The Kendall Peak Lakes Trail is primitive, a fisherman's access trail, and little more than a boot track. After leaving the road it rises steeply to the first lake. Follow the track around the right hand shore of the lake. The trail again climbs steeply to the second lake. From here the trail is even more difficult to find. Follow the shore to the right. Before crossing an inlet locate the trail switch backing up the hill to the third lake. These are beautiful little lakes. All of the lakes offer fishing and the first and second are wonderful areas to see wildflowers in mid-summer.
