Directions

Follow Highway 99 North to Mount Currie, then turn right for Lillooet. 5 km past Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, just past the Cayoosh Creek bridge, turn left onto the Cayoosh Creek Forest Service Road. You will know if you're in the right place if you see a large salt shed very close (50m) to the turnoff. If you have 4WD, travel the FSR 2 km to the trailhead - the road was recently brushed out by the Whistler ACC in summer '06.

This is the same approach to Rohr Lake and Mt. Rohr (the trail junctions off to Rohr about an hour after the end of the road. The sign marked Aspen is the way to Marriot and the sign marked Rohr obviously leads to Rohr lake)

The Wendy Thompson Memorial Hut is located past the west end of the lower lake, follow the trail up through trees, 20min from the lake.. Contact the ACC Whistler Section at 604 902 1772 to reserve the hut.

A note on the descent. Hikers and snowshoers will want to come down the way the way they went up. Skiers, however, once below the lake and into the flat meadow, should keep skiers left as much as possible, staying high. If you follow this correctly, you will end uop in the middle of a boulder field which in good condition is a pleasant ski down. From there the trail is easy to pick up and you'll be on the road in minutes.
