Directions
From Highway #1 (Trans-Canada Highway), head north over the Ironworkers Memorial (Second-Narrows) Bridge in the middle lane. Take the third exit after the bridge (#22a), signed as Mount Seymour Parkway. Turn right onto Mount Seymour Parkway almost immediately and follow it 4.4 km before turning left onto Mount Seymour Road.
Follow Mount Seymour Road as it winds it's way up the mountain. Drive to the end of the large parking lot at the end of the road. Start at the Mount Seymour Trail kiosk, to the left of the Mystery Peak chairlift. Mount Seymour Provincial Park requires parking passes for vehicles during the summer months.
Details
A rough trail leading north from the Dog Mountain viewpoint and eventually looping back to the east to the Mount Seymour Trail via Second Lake.
* Follow the Dog Mountain Trail until the very end, where it turns left and climbs up to the top of Dog. Instead of turning left and up Dog, turn onto the trail on the right - marked with a metal tag as "Suicide Bluffs Trail".
* Climbs up the hillside, sometimes confusing but overall a well maintained trail. Passes three ponds before reaching a viewpoint on some bluffs.
* A short distance past the viewpoint, the trail climbs steeply via two black braided cable ropes.
* Immediately past the ropes is the top of Suicide Bluffs - rocky flat summit/bluffs area. Good views of Seymour River/LSCR area! Beyond the bluffs is a major gorge separating Suicide Bluffs from Second Peak and Pump Peak.
* Past the summit, the trail winds its way alongside the edge of the bluffs with good views. Interesting trail. Continues over another bluff "summit" before descending and passing just above Hidden Lake. The trail ends at the Mount Seymour Trail, 1.0 km north of the parking lot. Turn right to complete the loop.
