The main trail follows an old impassable mining road before three separate trails leave the road. Trail (1) leaves at the 6 km mark along the old mining road. This trail winds through an open sub-alpine forest to the Cameron Ridge viewpoint. From the top, there is a spectacular view of Mitchell Lake, Mitchell River estuary and the Penfold Valley. The trail is well marked with markers and ribbon.
