Directions

Access is on the east side of the Icefields Highway at the south end of Bow Lake. This trail begins as the Helen Lake trail which continues past Lake Katherine before reaching Dolomite Pass and continuing down to Isabella Lake.

Details

This is a difficult trail with some tough stream crossings, but you are rewarded with access to Isabella Lake and to some falls on Dolomite Creek. A primitive campsite is located at Isabella Lake.

Helen Lake, Katherine Lake, and Dolomite Pass are within reach of the day-hiker. A spectacular side-trip is a relatively easy scramble up Cirque Peak, yielding views of Bow Lake and the Wapta Glacier.
