Directions

Drive North from Hope on Highway 5 (Coquihalla Highway).

To reach the east trailhead, continue to the Coquihalla Lakes / Britton Creek Rest Area (exit #288). At the four-way stop next to the highway, turn right. Follow the road a few hundred meters until you reach a dirt road on your left, signed as Tulameen River Forest Service Road. Turn left here, and follow the road. If you pass the Coquihalla Lakes Lodge, you've missed the turn.

Zero your odometer at the start of Tulameen River Road and follow it for 8 kilometers to a fork, with the upper fork on the left signed as Britton Creek Road and the lower right road signed as Tulameen River Road. Take the lower fork on the right, continuing south. Ignore all side branch roads and travel to the 46.5 km mark, where there are two signposts on either side of the road marking the Brigade Trail. Parking is available at nearby Jabosen Lake or on the side of the road.

To reach the west trailhead, a moderate-clearance vehicle is recommended. Take Sowaqua Creek exit #192 and continue down the road, ignoring the junction to the right that leads back under the highway. As the road transitions to gravel turn left and reset your odometer. This is the start of Sowaqua Creek Forest Service Road. Less than one kilometer later, take the left fork. At 9 kilometers is a gate that will be closed if logging is active in the area. At 19.3 km the road forks again, with Sowaqua Creek Road continuing to the left and the Richmond Creek Spur continuing to the right. Take the left fork and continue another 2.9 kilometers to the signed trailhead and parking area.

Details

Just pass Jacobson Lake (about 1km) is a post on either side of the road parking "forest service trail". This is the HBC Brigade Trail. Palmer's pond route is on the right (leading away from the lake).
