Directions
Starting at the entrance to the town of Gold Bridge, drive north on Lillooet Pioneer Road. As you begin to drive along magnificent Carpenter L
Drive north on Lilloeet Pioneer Road from the town of Gold Bridge, heading alongside Carpenter Lake. 11.2 km north of the entrance to Gold Bridge, turn left onto Tyaughton Lake Road. The road is unsigned, but it's hard to miss - watch for a gravel road with a large number of resort signs next to it. Zero your odometer here.
Follow Tyaughton Lake Road, ignoring all side branches. At 8.4 km, keep left at the junction with Tyax Drive. At the 13.5 km mark, a three-way fork in the road is reached. The Taylor Basin trailhead is located on the left-most fork, while the middle fork leads to private property. Turn right here, taking the right-most fork in the road. Zero your odometer again. You're now on "Mud Ck-Taylor Ck Forest Service Road". A word of warning - the kilometer markers alongside the roads are useless here - they are numbered from Lilloeet and decrease as you drive. Continue for 3.4 km until "Mud Ck-Taylor Ck FSR" ends at "Mud Ck FSR". Turn left here.
Mud Creek Forest Service Road winds along the steep, rocky hillside until it reaches Tyaughton Creek Forest Service Campsite. There are a few drive-in campsites here, with picnic tables and outhouses. Just last the campsite, turn left onto "Mud Ck - Paradise Ck FSR". Reset your odometer again.
Follow the "Paradise Creek" road as it climbs uphill. At the 1.7 km mark, keep to the left (the unmarked road on the right is Relay Creek Forest Service Road). At the 2.6 km mark, make a sharp 180 degree turn to the right and continue uphill (the road on the left leads to a small campsite and the Tyaughton Creek Hiker's Trail). Continue uphill.
The Tyaughton Creek trailhead is located a short distance later, on the left side of the road. It's easy to miss if you don't know where to look - bringing a GPS unit is strongly recommended.
