Directions
Head north from Mt. Currie towards D'arcy. A couple kilometers before eaching D'arcy, the blackwater road leaves the main highway on the left. Follow blackwater road west until just before a gate at the entrance to Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park. The Phelix Creek road goes uphill from here on the right hand side. There is a sizeable parking area at the bottom of the road. Blackwater road is plowed in winter as far as the Birkenhead park gate.
Details
This trail and the nearby Brian Waddington Hut are maintained by the UBC Varisty Outdoors club. see http://www.ubc-voc.com/wiki/Brian_Waddington_Hut for more details.
A new trail has been partially cleared entirely on the west side of the creek. This new trail will eventually replace the one on the east side when it is complete. It is not complete yet and does not go all the way to Long Lake.
