DescriptionA very lightweight weather-resistant jacket – perfect for highly aerobic activities in cold, drizzly weather that might otherwise justify becoming a couch potato. The polyester exterior fabric is backed with a laminate to deliver a windproof, highly water-repellent (though not waterproof), extremely breathable shell.
The form-fitting cut slips nicely over a lightweight wicking garment. The fit on this year’s version has been improved with longer sleeves.
|
Features* Exterior fabric is a WINDSTOPPER® membrane laminated to a 70-denier ripstop polyester face fabric.
* Underarm zippers for extra venting.
* Fleece-lined collar for warmth and comfort against the skin, with minimal water pick-up.
* Flap-free water-resistant Uretek front and chest pocket zippers.
* Made in Canada, fabric from USA.

| Strengths: |
light weight, windproof, water resistant, breathable, pit zips |
| Weaknesses: |
short length (to the waist) provides low coverage, no hood |
| Conclusions: |
I managed to pick up a used older version of this jacket for $10. It is my winter running shell and it now comes along on all sunny day trips as an emergency shell for unexpected rain or wind.
So far I'm quite happy with it - it's very windproof, fairly water resistant and it breathes well with the pit zips.
I wish it were a little longer and had a hood, but other than that, I'm quite happy with my purchase. I don't think I would have paid the full price for it though, since it is really only for emergencies and I suppose I could carry a full gore-tex jacket for not much more weight.
