This harness is for kids who have gained some degree of balance and familiarity with roped-up climbing. For kids just starting out, a full body harness is recommended, to ensure they stay upright.

* Recommended for top-roping only.

* For ages 5 to 10 or approximately 20 to 50kg.

* Adjustable waistbelt fits 52 to 61cm, non-adjustable leg loops fit 37 to 46cm.

Strengths: Speed buckles don't need double backing, looks like the adult version
Weaknesses: Can't think of any
Conclusions: When my daughter "grew out of" her full body harness, I found this nice little sit harness. She loves that it looks just like an adult harness. I love that it's easy to get a good fit and is comfortable enough that she can climb all day (and she can!) without noticing her harness.

BD's statement about kids using a full-body harness to start is dead on. But, once they can lower on positive aspect slopes with confidence, right themselves falling on overhanging parts and so on, then this is an excellent kid's sit harness.
